Description
Heriz rugs feature one of the most distinguishable styles of any Persian rug. These village rugs originate in northwestern Persia, and are heavily influenced by tribal designs popularized by Turkish and Caucasian nomads. As is common in tribal styles, Heriz rugs are almost always feature geometric designs. The most common is an all-over, large-scale medallion layout, coupled with additional geometric floral motifs. They feature a heavy, thick wool pile and cotton foundation, and frequently feature high contrast color palettes of blues and reds. These distinctive carpets are wonderful options for high-traffic areas and can outlast generations of heavy use.
This rug has been treated with an antique wash, softening its tones to appeal to the palette of any modern-day home. Pattern, color variation, and signs of wear with vintage items is normal. If you have specific questions about wear or colors, email hello[at]passerinehome[dot]com or call us to discuss this rug in more detail.
We recommend using rug pads to extend the life of all Passerine rugs. Add a custom-sized rug pad to your order using order add-on the drop down above.
